Kimi Werner filets a fish on the shore of Indonesia
RESOURCE CONSERVATION IS A RIFFE HUNTING PHILOSOPHY.
In Jay’s days of participating in spearfishing competitions, he eventually felt sorrow by the amount of fish that were taken, both large and small. Jay recognized the devastating effects. There would be none left for the future generations. This shaped his vision to adopt the practice of taking only what is needed for consumption.

“All divers should protect the waters they swim and hunt in, ensuring future divers the experience and excitement of freediving that I’ve had over the past seventy years. I strive to produce high quality, spearfishing and diving equipment capable of handling any condition."

"Selective Divers set their sights on those few prize fish for consumption. Be Selective, Fish for the Future.”  – Jay Riffe

    Almost perfect travel set up

So first I have to say I live in Hawaii and dive clean water and normally shoot a bigger bodied gun as I feel it handles the recoil better to power up a little bit for extra range. With that being said this gun came set up great from factory- shot smooth and straight and the slim profile kept it light for traveling. I can’t speak much on the longevity but plan to start using it regularly as my back up gun to see how well it will hold up. I think for specific dive trips this gun will go, but the breakdown aspect won’t matter as other guns will also be packed. I think where this gun will really excel will be for travel where spearfishing isn’t the main objective, so this can make it easy to pack your gear just Incase you can get a dive day in on let’s say a family vacation. The one place I think needs changed (and I am re-rigging) is the shooting line. The spectra works fine as long as you have the muzzle bungee to keep it tensioned. I removed the muzzle bungee and put a reel on it and without the stretch keeping tension the spectra would get loose and come off (because the bungee and shooting line are cut to a length to anchor at the muzzle anchor you can’t just tie the reel line to the bungee because the knot will be through the muzzle anchor). I think it should either come with a long and short muzzle bungee so the shooting line can be terminated further back to accommodate direct anchor of the bungee to the muzzle or tied to reel line, or the shooting line be mono. The…

Great product, and even better customer service.

I was debating which gun to buy since I travel frequently, yet was skeptical about the structural integrity of gun and shaft that could break down. I called up the Riffe HQ and their sales guy spent solid time explaining the products and helping me make a decision. I ended up buying the Euro Travel series 110, took it out last week, and fell in love with it. It's incredibly powerful, accurate, lightweight, and easy to maneuver. I tend to gravitate towards brands with a legacy of quality and a sustainable philosophy, and Riffe didn't disappoint. It was worth the price - especially given I can break it down and take it around the world with me.
