RESOURCE CONSERVATION IS A RIFFE HUNTING PHILOSOPHY.
In Jay’s days of participating in spearfishing competitions, he eventually felt sorrow by the amount of fish that were taken, both large and small. Jay recognized the devastating effects. There would be none left for the future generations. This shaped his vision to adopt the practice of taking only what is needed for consumption.

“All divers should protect the waters they swim and hunt in, ensuring future divers the experience and excitement of freediving that I’ve had over the past seventy years. I strive to produce high quality, spearfishing and diving equipment capable of handling any condition."

"Selective Divers set their sights on those few prize fish for consumption. Be Selective, Fish for the Future.”  – Jay Riffe

Great value in a 3.5 mil wetsuit

I purchased this suit off the Garage Sale stock and it was a great value. It is the perfect weight / thickness for shoulder season temperatures and the non-Yamamoto rubber used in this suit is plenty comfortable and supple. My only complaint isn't the quality itself, but for me the fit isn't perfect. At the Garage Sale pricing it was a risk I was willing to take for this use case. According to their website, RIFFE does not accept returns on wetsuits and there is no dealer around me so I just had to roll the dice. I don't know if there is any sort of sizing workaround, but I'm otherwise happy with the purchase and the quality.

Thank you for your detailed feedback, Jason. We're pleased to hear you found great value in the Vortex© 3.5mm wetsuit and your satisfaction with the comfort and suppleness of the material. We understand your point about fit challenges when purchasing without trying on first, and we acknowledge this can be tricky with wetsuit sizing. Your honest feedback about the fit, while still recognizing the quality and value, is very helpful. We appreciate you sharing your experience.

    Most comfortable suit I’ve owned

Okay so this is my second riffe 3.5mm wetsuit and still the most comfortable suit I’ve ever had. In between this one and the last one I owned (it was the blue colored digitec) I’ve tried a few other popular name wetsuits (in the same price categories or even more expensive) and they all just feel more constricted even though they were also 3.5mm thickness- and I don’t feel any of them lasted as long as my first riffe suit. I would have given it 5 stars, but I have 3 things I feel could be done different:

1). Add a pocket or two- not sure why any spearo wetsuit now a days doesn’t have at least one pocket on the leg- so many useful things you can use it for and there’s no harm in having it if you don’t use it

2). I’m not a fan of the knee reinforcements. I’ve use other wetsuits that have something more similar to what’s on the elbow but a little rougher or aggressive and it seems to hold up longer than the almost painted on rubber coating, or even ones that have a whole different layer of material over those areas. I do live in Hawaii and 85% of my diving is reef where we drop to the bottom and lay on rough reef and rock a lot of the time.

3). And last is the lack of inner coating that makes it easier to put on. I’m not talking about lined wetsuits, but so many of the higher end suits now have some kind of like gold or silver paint on the inside that makes it so much nicer putting on. The riffe suits is down right a pain in the butt to get into without sufficient lube. Now…
