For shooting reef fish on a big gun with 3 bands, its nice to have the rest tab to underpower shots a bit (so you don't shoot completely through or even worse, miss then get a bent tip from hitting rocks behind fish).

Although it's generally added to assist in loading bands, it's helpful to hear how you're using it strategically for underpowering shots on your 3-band setup to avoid overpenetration and protect your spear tips from the reef when using larger speargun models.
